Hosted at the newly-opened Galeria Pedro Alfacinha in Lisbon, André Príncipe’s Antena 2 – the artist’s first solo show in the Portuguese capital since 2006 – gathers a selection of photographs from his past three years of photographic wandering.

A daily, disciplined practice, which drives the author to an intimate portrait of people, animals and places. Through a remarkable attention towards postures and gestures, he captures the surprising inevitability of what is mortal, and ridiculous. That is to say, the whole world.

André Príncipe (Porto, 1976) was previously featured in Fantom Issue 7, Spring/Summer 2011. His series Septembers, produced between London and New York from 2002 to 2004, is currently on show at Les Rencontres Internationales de la Photo de Fès, Fantom’s latest curatorial project.
