miart 2015
miart – International Fair of Modern and Contemporary Art From 9th to 12th April 2015 the pavilions of fieramilanocity will welcome 156 international galleries representing the best of modern and contemporary art and limited-edition design from all over the world. Once again, the 20th edition will be structured along four sections: Established, with 105 exhibitors subdivided into the sections Master, which includes galleries focusing on historically established artists; Contemporary, for galleries specializing in contemporary work; and First Step, a new sub-section for those galleries which have already received national and international recognition and participating at miart for the first or second time, as well as the galleries that pass from the Emergent to the Established section; Emergent, including 19 avant-garde galleries focusing on young artists, with 16 foreign galleries and 6 making their first appearance in an art fair; THENnow, an invitational section presenting 18 galleries, each showing a comparative installation of works by an established artist and one from a more recent generation; finally, Object offers a selection of 13 galleries active in the promotion of contemporary design created in limited editions and approached as artwork.
On this occasion, FANTOM will be present with a site-specific installation by London-based artist Maurizio Anzeri.
miartalks
A new cycle of miartalks – curated by Maria Cristina Didero, independent curator, Milan; Paola Nicolin, curator and art historian, Università Bocconi, Milan; Alessandro Rabottini, independent curator and curator-at-large, MADRE, Naples – will accompany the three days of the fair with an open platform of contributions, including conferences, conversations and interviews, involving 35 international personalities among which artists, designers, museum directors, fashion designers, critics, curators, collectors and journalists, who in the year of the Expo will discuss art and its institutions, scenarios of the present and the future.
