Thijs Groot Wassink, Ruben Lundgren, Yan Lei and Zhang Yao, the four artists presented in the exhibition “Post-Photography”, have a common denominator: using the camera – as well as video-technology and digital printmaking – to depict the real world, rather than to speak about photography itself. Using the popular press and daily life as a main source, the artists build a new reality – less fashionable, less idealized – that throws light on the abuses of photography in authorities and advertisers’ propaganda.
